Fiction Reading

The fiction state standards are introduced and assessed through the use of the novels and supporting texts / short stories.

Narrative Writing

The students will show their understanding of the narrative writing standards by planning, writing, and publishing narrative.

Nonfiction Reading

Various nonfiction texts and articles will be explored.

Argumentative Writing

Students will choose a high-interest topic to produce an argumentative writing piece.

Fiction / Nonfiction Reading

We will revisit the fiction and nonfiction reading standards through novels, short stories, and more.

Informational Writing

The students will research a relevant topic to write a  informational piece.
