FES Welcomes New Principal, Jennifer (Jenny) Pinto

Jennifer (Jenny) Pinto is a dedicated educator with a focus on student-centered learning. She began her career with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven, and later pursued her passion for education, earning an M.S. in Secondary Education and a 6th Year Degree in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University.

For the past five years, Jenny has been an Education Consultant at LEARN Regional Education Service Center, where she created and delivered professional learning programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students and teachers. She has supported teaching and learning in multiple districts across the state, helping to build systems that enhance student outcomes and mentoring new teachers through their certification process.

Prior to working for LEARN, Jenny was the Head of the Mathematics Department at Norwich Free Academy. There, she worked closely with teachers to develop engaging curricula and used data analysis to drive instructional improvements. Jenny has always been passionate about creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive.

Combining her engineering background with her educational expertise, Jenny is committed to fostering environments where students are at the center of learning, and teachers are empowered to inspire and guide their students to success.

Jenny lives in Groton and is the proud mother of two amazing children, Giovanni and Michelina.

Jenny is incredibly excited about joining Franklin Elementary School and is eager to meet the students, families, and staff.  She will begin July 1, and plans to have an open-door policy welcoming everyone to come visit and share their ideas.
