  • WHAT CAN I READ?

You can read anything you enjoy from novels to books of poetry to comic books. Just track the number of pages per text.

  • I CAN REALLY READ ANYTHING I WANT?

Yes. Reading is reading. Go forth and read anything you like!

  • I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO READ. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Yes. Check out the 2019 featured book: Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. Or, you can check out some links to curated lists of great books. Go here to see what they are.

  • WHAT DO I DO AFTER I FINISH READING?

  • WHAT IF I READ AN ARTICLE ONLINE, DOES THAT COUNT?

Yes. Reading is reading. Approximate the number of pages the article would be if you printed it and fill out this form. Also, send out a tweet about what you read. #FHSMillion

  • HOW DO I KNOW HOW CLOSE WE ARE TO 1,000,000 PAGES?

Check the live counter throughout the summer to see our progress.

  • HOW MUCH DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO READ TO HIT OUR 1,000,000 PAGE GOAL?

There are approximately 1,800 students and 200 faculty members equaling about 2,000 people. If each person reads 500 pages we will reach our goal. Or, think about it this way. The average teen novel is approximately 240 pages. We will hit our goal if everyone reads 2-3 books.

  • WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?

Because reading is awesome! Reading is a great way for you to learn about yourself and the world. It builds community. It's a great way to learn about something new or keep up to date with current events. It's also a great way to keep your mind sharp and build your vocabulary.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF FHS COLLECTIVELY READS 1,000,000 PAGES?
