Literacy

Every year, students at RMS are exposed to may different initiatives aimed at increasing their access to different genres of literature. Books and reading are continually becoming a major part of the Remington Middle School culture and curriculum in all content areas wherein all students are working on becoming avid readers.
Becoming an avid reader is important because reading helps students to be able to write and communicate more clearly and with a more advanced vocabulary. Reading also helps students to build the background knowledge they will need to learn and advance as they proceed in their educational careers.
