It has come to our attention that students are talking about Wednesday, March 14th the day that has been scheduled for a Student Walkout. We want to let students know that the A World of Difference Peer Leaders and Advisors in collaboration with Ms Wittcoff and Mrs. Morrison are planning a meaningful way in which students who want to walk may and those who don’t want to walk cannot. We will update you as our plans come together. No one will get in trouble for walking and not walking.

Hurricane Harvey originally started it’s path in the Gulf of Mexico. This donation drive is to help Mauriceville Middle School in Orange, Texas. This event will take place from Monday October 30 to Tuesday November 21. The donated items will be worth points. The advisor from each grade with the most points will win a pizza party. There will also be an end of drive celebration on Tuesday November 21 after school from 2:00 to 3:00.

STEM Club is for students who like science experiments, exploring technology, engineering challenges, and math puzzles. We will be meeting on Tuesdays this year, and all are welcome! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 19.

We’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but who has time when you have to rush out of the house to get to school so early every day? Let’s make time together! Join the breakfast club. We’ll meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:45 in room L16. Bring your breakfast in sit together in a peaceful atmosphere. We’ll sometimes talk about good nutrition, share some easy to make-ahead, healthy breakfast ideas, and maybe even have an opportunity to move and stretch a bit before starting our school days. We’ll start on the right foot together! Our first meeting will be next Monday, the 18th. For more information, see Mrs. Hughes or Mrs. Franciosi.

Stay after school in a quiet space to get a bit of homework done in self-directed study. Mondays in Mrs. Zogby’s room (L5), Tuesdays in L16 with Mrs. Hughes and Thursdays the room will alternate. Go home feeling more accomplished and able to relax.

Any student interested in auditioning for the Jazz Band will be able to pick up the information and audition materials today in the Band Room anytime starting at FLEX. Auditions for Jazz Band will be on September 18-19th after school.

• All instrumental sectionals will be beginning next week. Music rosters are in the process of being finalized for all teachers.
