Face to Face Students will begin bringing home a book and a journal each night. This will be the only homework throughout the year. Students will read for 15-20 minutes and then write three (3) sentences in their Reading-Writing Journal (a composition notebook) The three sentences will include- 1) Main idea of the chapter or section of the book read and 2) Two details that happened during the part of the book that was read. If the book is non-fiction (true/learning book) then write 1) the Main Idea and 2) Two (2) things that you learned from the text.
Students are responsible for the classroom book they have checked out of Mrs. Barnhart's library. During this "Covid19" time period we ask that the book be kept in the plastic zip lock bag (and inside of the student book bag) any time it is not being read. The only people handling the book should be the student and if needed an adult helper. All books will be "quarantined" for at least 4 days when they are returned to the classroom library.
