8th GRADE PINNING REQUIREMENTS
8th-grade members must maintain an A- or higher in all of their classes (including core and cycle classes).
Members are expected to demonstrate behavior in line with the Pillars of NJHS, including character and citizenship and not receive any major write-ups.
Members of National Junior Honor Society students are required to demonstrate their commitment to service and community citizenship. Members will need to complete 10 hours of community service with documentation of hours completed (sheet found on google classroom to log hours).
Students may participate in service opportunities in their community (scouts, community event, food bank/soup kitchen, elementary school events)
Students may also join the Peer Leadership Core (PLC) which will sponsor multiple service projects at Franklin Avenue Middle School during the course of the school year
Students may participate in a Franklin Avenue Middle School NJHS sponsored service project.
At the conclusion of their 8th grade year, members will be invited to celebrate their achievements with their family members at the next inductee ceremony. Students will also recieve in May from Mr. DiMichele their NJHS service pins and their cords to wear to 8th grade graduation.
