Gifted & Talented

Franklin Lakes Public Schools provide opportunities, resources, and encouragement for all K-5 students through our Gifted & Talented Continuum of Services. The District's programming is grounded in the field's latest research and models. Our best practices align with the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) standards and are in accordance with NJ-A4710: Strengthening Gifted and Talented Education Act. Our mission is to facilitate student learning, achievement, and development through appropriate extensions, enrichment opportunities, and challenges.

Our students:

  • engage in activities that nurture both their academic and affective skills.

  • explore exciting content from a variety of academic disciplines to pique their curiosity.

  • experience a learning environment that encourages the development and expression of their critical and creative thinking skills.

  • participate in cooperative learning and leadership opportunities through active problem-solving.

  • simulate the work of practicing professionals.

  • evolve as self-directed learners, who obtain and utilize the resources and skills necessary for nurturing their intellectual curiosity.

  • acquire differentiated academic experiences through lessons that honor their individual learning modalities.

  • recognize and celebrate their unique interests and talents.
