Submit an Abstract

Students are invited to submit their research to the 2022 Annual Laurel Highlands Undergraduate Psychology Research Conference. The Conference will take place in-person on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

The Conference is a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate students in Psychology to present their research (in oral or poster format) in a positive, collaborative and supportive environment. This professional development opportunity allows students to practice their presentation skills and to discuss their ideas with other faculty and students. Students from all class years and skill levels are encouraged to participate. We encourage submissions for both oral and poster sessions.

Oral Presentations

Each oral presentation will be 15 minutes in total, including a 10-minute presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A. Participants will be able to use PowerPoint and will have access to the Internet. Participants should bring their PowerPoint presentations loaded onto USB drives, and should plan to come 15 minutes in advance of the oral presentation session to load the PowerPoint onto the computer.

Poster Presentations

Poster presentations will take place during a 1-hour long designated session. Poster presentations will be displayed on standard, 36″ X 48″ poster presentation boards. Poster presenters should plan to come 15 minutes in advance of their assigned poster session to set up their posters.

Submission Requirements

Students can submit their abstracts online, using the form below. Each presentation should be submitted only once by the first author. Authors should prepare an APA style abstract that is no more than 200 words. Please proof and spell check prior to submission.

  • Please notice you will be requested to indicate if: 1) you are interested in an oral or poster presentation. 2) you are willing to present your research in the other format, if needed (e.g., if you chose to present a poster, would you be willing to present an oral presentation instead, or if you chose an oral presentation, would you be willing to present a poster instead).

Abstracts are due by midnight on April 8, 2022. We are no longer accepting oral presentations.

We will reply to each submission during the week of April 11, 2022.

Please Register

Students are encouraged to register at the time of submission. If there are multiple authors, each author should register individually, but, again, only one person needs to submit the abstract.

We ask that faculty and attendees not presenting also register online by April 15, 2022. This will allow us to get an accurate count of the number of people attending so that we can prepare accordingly.

Registration fee is $18 including lunch or $12 for the conference only.
