The transition from middle school to high school is an exciting milestone! Throughout eighth grade, Fuller students will participate in activities and lessons designed to help them prepare for life at Framingham High School (FHS). Students will learn about the high school experience, explore academic and extracurricular opportunities, and become familiar with the resources available to support their success.
Course Selection: During the course selection process, teachers will make recommendations for students' courses for ninth grade. Students and families will have an opportunity to review course options, ask questions, and work with school staff to make informed decisions about appropriate courses and academic goals.
How Families Can Prepare:
Attend high school information sessions and review materials shared by FHS.
Talk with your child about their interests, strengths, and goals.
Review course recommendations and selection deadlines carefully.
Encourage your child to ask questions and explore extracurricular activities, clubs, and other opportunities.
Our goal is to help every student feel informed, confident, and prepared to take this next step. We look forward to supporting our Fuller students and families throughout the transition to Framingham High School!
Families considering private high school for their child are encouraged to begin researching schools during 7th or early 8th grade, as application deadlines and admissions requirements vary. Explore school websites, attend open houses, schedule campus tours, and speak with admissions representatives to find the best fit for your child’s academic needs, interests, and learning style.
Applications and school records: Most schools request an application, recent report cards or transcripts, teacher recommendations, and sometimes a student essay or personal statement.
Entrance exams: Depending on the school, students may need to take an entrance exam such as the SSAT, ISEE, HSPT, or a school-specific placement test. Check each school’s requirements before registering.
Interviews and campus visits: Many schools invite students and parents or guardians to participate in an interview, admissions meeting, or student visit.
Tuition and financial aid: Tuition varies considerably. Some private and Catholic schools cost approximately $10,000–$30,000 per year, while many independent college-preparatory schools cost $40,000–$70,000 or more. Additional expenses may include uniforms, books, transportation, and activity fees. Do not assume private school is out of reach because of the cost. Many schools offer need-based financial aid, tuition assistance, scholarships, or payment plans. Families are encouraged to contact admissions or financial aid offices early to ask about available support, eligibility requirements, and deadlines.
