"The Bridge team was key in helping coordinate work with teachers and my daughters stress level. Just knowing she had a safe place in the school and people advocating for her - and willing to push her when necessary - was invaluable for both her and me."
"After hearing about the program at a PTBO meeting, I thought this was a wonderful program for vulnerable students but never imagined we would need it. I was incredibly grateful for the program when we did. Much thought and experience has gone into the structure and running of the program. I was not expecting the participation of so many adults from the school and it showed me how important each student is to the faculty and staff at the high school. They did so incredibly much to support her and to help her get back on her feet and to succeed."
The ongoing communication: phone calls/emails as issues arose or just to tell us she had a good day. They were essential in keeping us going. The monthly meetings were a great opportunity to pull it all together and plan as a team.
Our family was so excited that Bridge even existed and to then have such a great experience with the entire team. Plus see our daughter really start to function independently. It was so much more than we could have hoped for.
Thank you all for helping me to come back into school confidently after the month that I was away. I would've have been so scared to rush back into things if it wasn't for you guys and the accommodations you have offered me.
Bridge is a mood. I like the vibes the room and the people give off.
It has been helpful having someone to talk with about students who are hospitalized or returned from treatment. When there is no point person or just school counseling information is withheld and teachers don’t know who to talk with about a student.
The students I have feel comfortable accessing bridge when needed. This resource is definitely a safe space for them in the school and helps them feel comfortable and get re-acclimated.
Coordinating returning to classes, coordinating make up work and liaising with teachers, having a space for the student as they transition back - basically the overall case management is extremely helpful
