Kicking off the year, we had a great first session of the Journal Qlub! Here is a recap of what we covered:
Welcome to the Journal Qlub: We broke down exactly what the Journal Qlub is all about, our core goals for the year, and how our upcoming sessions will be structured.
"Linux for Researchers" Seminar: José Javier Fernández delivered an amazing talk to help demystify Linux. He broke down what it is, why it is such a powerful operating system, and how you can immediately use it to level up your own research and coursework.
Missed the seminar or want to review the code? All the materials and commands covered are available in this Github repo, and the recording of the session right below. Enjoy!
2nd Session (March 6th)
"Quantum Computing For Plasma Physics" Seminar: Óscar Amara (PhD student at GoLP, IPFN, Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon) delivered an amazing talk on how quantum algorithms aim to break the limits of classical supercomputers—and the challenges of mapping complex plasma dynamics to quantum circuits.
