Meet the FLO team
Rachel Wynne
My name is Rachel Wynne, and I am the Family Liaison Officer supporting the families and children at Featherby Infants and Nursery School and Featherby Junior School.
My role in school is to provide support, advice and information to families who are facing a challenge or difficulty, no matter how small. I can also be a listening ear if you need someone to talk to. I can meet with you at your home or at school. I may not have all the answers, but I will do my best to point you in the right direction of other services that can and will work with you to bring about positive changes. You are welcome to speak to me in person or over the phone, or even just send me an email. I will be the friendly face, the ear to listen and the shoulder to cry on.
Sometimes we all need a little bit of help with family life, and there are many difficulties that are common across all types of families. Accessing support when you need it will benefit you and your family in the long term and can make everyone feel much better when things improve. Along with the entire staff across the Featherby Schools, I would like you and your children to see the school as a safe and friendly environment, not only to learn and grow, but to share concerns and worries.
If you feel I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing me at flo@fpsmat.org or contacting your child’s school on 01634 231072 (Infants) - option 7, 01634 231984 (Juniors) - option 7. There is a voicemail service that comes directly to me to leave a message if I do not answer the phone. I will, of course, phone you back.
Concerns relating to the safeguarding of children will always be dealt with in accordance with the school's Safeguarding Policy. Featherby is a partnership of two values-led community schools where everyone loves learning and being the best we can be.

Michelle Kagan
My name is Michelle Kagan, and I am the Family Liaison Officer at Barnsole Primary, where I have been working for nearly 5 years. Before this, I worked for the Family Solutions team in Medway, and I also have a long working history of working in schools in the local vicinity.
I absolutely love my job, working with the families at the school, and this is an absolute privilege to be in my role. I am also one of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads at the school.
'Empowering every child, nurturing diversity, fostering lifelong curiosity and resilience – aspirations are high for all.’
We recognised our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children and adults feel respected and valued. We maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’ where safeguarding is concerned, and promote a culture of openness where children and adults are able to talk and are listened to.

Carly Tydeman
My name is Carly, and I am the Parent Partnership Lead at Danecourt School.
My role is to support families and children with any worries, concerns, or challenges they may be experiencing, whether at home or school. I understand that parenting a child with additional needs can sometimes feel overwhelming, and there may be times when you just need someone to listen, offer reassurance, or help you find the right support.
I am here to work alongside you. You are very welcome to speak with me in school, over the phone, by email, or we can arrange a home visit if that feels easier for you. I aim to make sure families feel heard, supported, and comfortable in reaching out for help.
Along with the wider school team, I want our school to be a safe, understanding, and welcoming place for both children and their families.
If I can help in any way, I would love to hear from you.

Gemma Coulter
My name is Gemma Coulter, and I have been a member of staff at Bligh Primary School for over 13 years. I work as part of the Inclusion and Safeguarding Team, carrying out a range of responsibilities including family support, SEN support, and acting as the school’s Health Care Lead.
My role focuses on working alongside children and their families to offer help, guidance, and practical assistance when difficulties arise. These may be short-term concerns or more ongoing challenges. I am available to listen, offer reassurance, and support families in a way that feels respectful and collaborative. Support can be provided in school, over the telephone, or, where appropriate, within the home.
While I may not always be able to resolve an issue immediately, I will always work with families to explore options, agree on next steps, and, where helpful, connect them with external services. Bligh Primary School works closely with a range of outside agencies and has strong links to local services and resources that can provide additional support when needed.
I aim to be approachable and easy to talk to, offering a consistent and supportive point of contact for families during times that may feel challenging or uncertain.
Together with the wider staff team, I want families to feel confident that Bligh Primary School is a caring, supportive place — not only for children’s learning and development, but also somewhere families can share concerns, ask for help, and feel heard.
If you feel that support would be helpful, you are welcome to contact me by email at g.coulter@bligh-maritime.org or via the school office.
