Thank you for a WONDERFUL Literacy Month Celebration!

Literacy Month by the Numbers:

Over 120 students completed BINGO sheets! 

Over 60 students submitted designs for our Bookmark Contest! 

24 Storybook Characters were found around school! 

25 Mystery Readers came in and shared beautiful books! 

 1 INCREDIBLE Author visited Union School and wowed us with her message about turning lemons into something SWEETER!  

THANK YOU for supporting this inaugural celebration!

It's time to bring the books back home to the LIBRARY!  

All Union School Library Books are due back by MAY 30!  

Check your... bedroom, closets, locker, cubby, car, classroom!  

Students with all books returned will receive a PRIZE from Mrs. H.!

UN: Summer Reading

LIBRARY PROTOCOL:

OUR STUDENTS HAVE REGULAR LIBRARY LESSONS ON THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY, DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP, INNOVATIVE DESIGN, AS WELL AS BOOK TALKS, AND BOOK EXCHANGE.  DUE TO COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS AND THE CHALLENGES WITH DISINFECTING BOOKS, BOOK CIRCULATION MAY BE LIMITED, OR SUSPENDED, WITH STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO CHECK OUT EBOOKS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL LIBRARY BOOKS.  DURING THIS TIME BOOK CHECKOUT MAY BE LIMITED TO, OR SUSPENDED, DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS.  LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALISTS ACROSS TOWN WILL DEVELOP PROTOCOLS FOR SAFE BOOK SHARING WHICH WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO FAMILIES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.  THERE IS NO FEE FOR RETURNING LATE BOOKS.  HOWEVER, CHILDREN WITH A NUMBER OF OVERDUE BOOKS WILL BE UNABLE TO CHECK OUT ADDITIONAL BOOKS UNTIL OVERDUE BOOKS ARE RETURNED.
