The Attendance and Professional Responsibility Policy is below. Students will receive a copy and be asked to sign and return it in order to participate in the musical.

Musical Attendance and Professional Responsibility Policy
To support the overall production and success of the IAR Musical, the following attendance policy is in place.
Attendance at all rehearsals is an expectation. That being said, we recognize that students may need to miss rehearsal for excusable reasons, such as an illness, a death in the family, or an appointment that cannot be made outside of the hours of rehearsal. Therefore, each student participant will be allowed a maximum of 4 excused absences during the main rehearsal weeks of December 10th-March 13th.
If a student needs to miss a rehearsal, the student’s parent/guardian must notify both Mrs. Sullivan (sullivanc@fpsct.org) and Mrs. Folz (folzd@fpsct.org) via email of the date of the absence and the reason why.
The weeks prior to the show are critical for student attendance. Thus, absences will not be allowed during Tech week (March 19th-March 25th, 2:30-5:30 pm), Dress rehearsal week (March 29st-April 1st, 2:30-7:00 pm) or the weekend of the show (April 2nd and 3rd).
Please note that excessive absences or unexcused absences may likely result in a reduction of stage time and/or responsibilities in the musical.
Professional Responsibility:
Theater should be treated with the same priority that you would treat a seasonal sport. Rehearsal should take priority over other after-school and out-of-school events. You should also work outside of rehearsal to memorize lines and develop characters.
Behavior
Participation in the musical is contingent upon students following all school-wide behavioral expectations, both in school and at rehearsals. If a student is not meeting school-wide expectations, they may be removed from the production.
We appreciate your commitment to the production and look forward to an exciting performance! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Daryl Folz at folzd@fpsct.org.
Thank you,
Daryl Folz and Cathy Sullivan
