Updated Library Book Protocol

Our students have regular library lessons on the use of technology, digital citizenship, innovative design, as well as book talks, and book exchange. Due to COVID-19 health and safety concerns and the challenges with disinfecting books, book circulation may be limited, or suspended, with students encouraged to check out ebooks as an alternative to traditional library books. Library Media Specialists across town will develop protocols for safe book sharing which will be communicated to families at the beginning of the school year. When we are able to begin, book circulation will take place during students' Library Lesson time. Remote Learners are encouraged to continue using ebooks and the public library for additional reading materials. We will continue to reevaluate our plan over time. Please note, there is no fee for returning late books to the school library. However, children with a number of overdue books will be unable to check out additional books until overdue books are returned.
