Florham Park Schools
Distance learning began for the Florham Park Schools on Monday, March 16th and will continue for the remainder of the 2019-20 School Year as announced by Gov. Murphy on May 4, 2020. The Florham Park Schools has been preparing for the past month to transition from the classroom to virtual learning, and our district is well-poised to continue instruction at home during our school closure. As per Governor Murphy’s Executive Order #104 on Aggressive Social Distancing Measures, the Florham Park Schools will remain on distance learning for the rest of the school year. All facility use will be cancelled during this time.
Our immediate objective is to ensure that remote learning is accessible, practical, and provides continuity of instruction. We also value the relationships our students have with their classroom teachers and service providers. They will continue to be your child's direct point of contact and are accessible through email, office hours, and our digital platforms. Our district and building administrators are also accessible and available to answer any questions you may have. The administration will be providing updated communication and will be working behind the scenes to provide our staff, students, and parents with any necessary support, training, and/or resources.
The District's distance learning platform was created specifically to meet the needs of either a short-term or long-term closure and key details include:
A daily email from your child's teacher will be sent at 6:00am on each day of distance learning with 4 hours worth of assignments, along with supplemental resources, starting on March 16th.
Increased use of video/digital learning will be infused into assignments each week.
Office hours for staff to review emails will be taking place at 9:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm.
