Fox Creek Teacher Wins Award

Mr. John Naas, a fifth year business teacher at Fox Creek High School, is the latest Fox Creek High School staff member to win the WJBF Golden Apple Award. Mr. Naas is the ninth staff member at Fox Creek to earn the Golden Apple Award. The previous award winners include: Ms. Alan, Ms. Smith, Mr. Bell, Mr. Trahan, Ms. Shepherd, Ms. Cowart, Ms. Schneider, and Mr. Warnken.
Mr. Naas is a graduate of Arlington High School in Arlington, Ohio. He later graduated from The Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, SC with highest honors. Upon completion of the Associate of Arts Program, he attended Winthrop University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. At Winthrop, he also received a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree with an emphasis in Management. John Naas is the son of Phil and Judy Naas who currently live in Bluffton, SC.
Mr. Naas currently publishes the school newsletter and runs the Saturday School Program here at Fox Creek. He credits his many “great teachers and professors” for influencing him to go into education.
On March 5th, WJBF aired the segment featuring John Naas and Fox Creek High School. The segment aired as part of the local 5:30 pm newscast. Each of this year’s Golden Apple Award winners will be honored at Augusta State University on Friday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm. This presentation and John Naas’s acceptance speech will be featured live on WJBF Augusta.
