About Me

Hi Friends!

My name is Sabrina Gearon, and I am the school counselor at Seckman Elementary School. I began working as the school counselor at SES in 2021, and I am so thankful to get to do what I love here every day!

I worked in the Fox C-6 School District for 4 years prior to becoming the school counselor at Seckman. Before starting at Fox, I worked at Children's Division doing Child Abuse and Neglect Investigations for Jefferson County, which eventually led me to want to become a school counselor. I am a former student at Seckman Elementary, Seckman Middle, and Seckman High School, where I graduated in 2011. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, with minors in Psychology and Sociology, from University of Missouri - St. Louis, and received my Master of Arts in School Counseling degree from Lindenwood University.

I am happily married to my husband Chris, who is a Corporal with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and we have a beautiful daughter named McKenna. We also have two rescue dogs named Roscoe and Luna who we spoil like crazy! In my free time outside of school, I enjoy being outside, gardening, reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. I love all things colorful, flowers and plants make me very happy, and I have an admitted obsession with anything true crime, murder mystery, or thriller related.

My goal as a school counselor is to build positive relationships and be a support and resource for all students, parents, and staff members in our school. I want to be the students' listening ear and "go-to" person whenever they need to talk, have questions, or just need a safe space to take a break. I try to give my students tools and strategies to help them be a problem solver and be able to help and advocate for themselves as they're getting older. I have a passion for making sure each child lives up to their full potential and will advocate for our students however I can!

My role as the school counselor lets me wear many different hats. I see every class in the school twice a month for counseling lessons, see specific students for small group activities that focus on certain topics, and see students individually based on their need. I am also the 504 coordinator and Student Success Team Lead for the building, and oversee NWEA testing and MAP testing. If you ever have any questions about how I can help your student, please do not hesitate to reach out!
