I wanted to let you all know some of the really cool things that happened at State last weekend.
- Landon Marlett Senior shot a PR of 291 and ranked 5th out of all senior boys, 15 overall out of 2132 boys
- Cassidy Jablonski Senior shot a 284 and ranked 7th in senior girls, 31 overall out of 1565 girls
- Dani Crinnion shot a 283 and ranked 9th in freshmen girls, 44 overall out of 1565
- Ian Slaven shot a 279 which is a PR for his State tournament scores, ranked top 10%
- Jackson Phillips shot a 277 and ranked top 10%
- Maddie White shot a PR of 275 and ranked 18th in sophomore girls
- Alexa Formby shot a 274 and ranked 25 in sophomore girls
- We had 5 seniors compete in their last State Tournament
- We had 2 freshman compete in their first HS State Tournament
- Team ranked 18th out of 45 High Schools
- EVERYONE that shot at the State Tournament qualified for Nationals - this one is a very important detail that I think some of you may have been confused on. You did not need to shoot a 260 or higher to advance to Nationals. We needed to be ranked high enough as a team to be qualified and because you qualified and competed at a State Tournament, that makes you, the individual archer, eligible.

I would try to get your hotel reservations as soon as you can because they tend to fill up quickly and get more expensive closer to the date. The same things apply for selecting flight times. We just get what we get and have very little room to change anything. I anticipate less control over Nationals than we had over State. I would expect to shoot either Friday afternoon or Saturday Morning. I think that makes the most sense also for most families trying to take off of work. I will have our flight times by April 17th. Remember to allow for about a 4 hour drive with a 1 hour time change. It's still a little ways away but when we get our target assignments that will tell you where to meet me about 30 minutes before your flight time. I will be in that area with our arrow bag.

Tournament information
We have our Seckman State Qualifier #1 on 1/31/26. The expectation is that all archers will work the tournament in some capacity. I have a sign up sheet for which areas you would like to work during the tournament. The first flight is at 9am so if you plan to help at the beginning please arrive between 8-8:30 so I can get you where you need to go. I will be running around at this time making sure everything is ready so just come find me. Below I will break down what I need at each area to eliminate some of the directions in the morning. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Registration table - At least 1 adult at all times - 1 walkie will be here for communication
This will be setup just past the night entrance before the ramp. Here you will have a money box and will be in charge of charging $2 for every non archer 13 and older. Teams/coaches will also be coming to you to pay the fee and collect their team envelope with scorecards and rosters. I will have receipts already printed so all you will need to do is sign that they paid and check it off on the list I will provide you. All team registration money/checks will go in the money box as well as the entry fees. No need to seperate.
Range officials - At least 4 AT ALL TIMES - This is easier than it seems but its just a lot of words to explain.
You will hold the power of the eraser! I will have orange vests and green/red paddles for you as well. All clipboards will be on the floor in front of the target scoring line with both scorecards and 1 pencil. Be aware of the whistle commands (1 whistle = shoot, 2 whistles = get bow, 3 whistles = go get arrows, 5 or more = emergency on the range). When archers start arriving and hanging their bows you will be checking for solid colored risers. If they have a camo or patterned bow the sight window must be taped with solid colored tape. After 2 whistles the archers will get their bow and head to the shooting line waiting with bows on toes. You will hold your red paddle up until every archer is doing this in your area. When the range is safe in your area, flip to the green side so the announcer can blow the "shoot" whistle command once the entire range is safe. Then paddles will not be needed unless there is an emergency until the next round of shooting. In the event of an emergency hold your red paddle up immediately and the announcer will blow 5 or more whistles. The archers should then put arrows back in quivers, hang bows on racks and return behind the waiting line until it is resolved. During scoring (after 3 whistle blows) archer A will call out and bubble the archer B's score, then archer B will check the box next to that soring end confirming they have been scored correctly. Then they will switch roles. During this time no archers are allowed to have their knees on the floor so you will need to police this. Look out for archers raising their hands. This means they need an eraser due to misscoring or need you to determine the score of an arrow. If an an arrow even touches a line they get the score of the higher ring. No one is allowed to touch an arrow until all arrows have been scored and the scorecard has been checked by both archers. No one (including range officials) are allowed to touch the arrows to determine if an arrow has touched a line. This must be done as the arrow sits. At the end of each scoring round you will collect the scorecards before the archers return to the waiting line. We will also switch paper faces immediately after all scoring is completed EVERY ROUND.
