Discovering the World Through Hands-On STEM

Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are critical learning areas for students. At Foundations Academy of Clarksville, curious minds come alive through play-based learning and exciting hands-on STEM activities. With the guidance of our certified teachers and the support of small classes, students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and make discoveries in a fun, nurturing environment.

Whether they're building simple machines with blocks, exploring the properties of water, or planting seeds to learn about nature, children are engaged in experimentation that sparks creativity and builds vocabulary. Every activity is designed to foster social interaction and develop essential social skills, as students collaborate, share ideas, and learn from one another.

STEM for preschoolers is more than just science—it’s a playful adventure that builds a lifelong love of learning. And best of all? It’s a whole lot of fun!

We prioritize supplying our 3-5 year olds with toys and activities that foster STEM skills. Some of our favorites include this I Can Build It! Architecture Set with which students can work together to design and construct their own buildings for dramatic play. Our kids lit up for a seed planting activity, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching their planted pea seeds come to life right before their eyes. A new Bridge Building Center has kept our students talking as they work together to problem-solve, and these ramps provide hours of fun and learning as students play alongside their peers.
