A Wild Adventure in Learning: Our Preschool Safari Experience!

This week at our faith-based preschool in Clarksville, our little explorers went on an unforgettable safari adventure! As part of our play-based learning approach, students ages 3–5 were immersed in a week-long study about the animals found on a safari and in the jungle. From lions and giraffes to monkeys and parrots, our preschoolers learned through stories, songs, crafts, and dramatic play, all designed to nurture their curiosity and love for learning.

Throughout the week, our qualified educators and certified teachers guided students as they practiced important skills such as language development, letters, counting, and reading, all while having fun. We believe that early-childhood education should be full of joy and discovery, preparing children for kindergarten and beyond in a way that feels natural and exciting.

To wrap up our safari unit, students took part in a special hands-on dramatic play experience. One class dressed up as the animals they learned about, reenacting how they climb, run, eat, and fly just like the creatures on the African plains. Meanwhile, the other class rode in our DIY safari Jeep, created with lots of creativity and family involvement, to “spot” the animals in their natural habitat. Afterward, the classes switched roles so every child could experience both sides of the adventure.

This type of interactive, imaginative play helps strengthen social skills, teamwork, and school readiness. It encourages children to express themselves, cooperate with peers, and explore new ideas with confidence. Our small class sizes and individualized attention ensure that each child is supported in their unique learning journey.

Of course, the fun did not stop indoors. The adventure continued with plenty of outdoor play, where children practiced their animal movements and enjoyed fresh air while building coordination and creativity. Experiences like these also foster community engagement, helping our preschoolers see how learning connects to the world around them.
