Prayer Books and Lifelong Faith

At Foundations Academy of Clarksville, we believe that spiritual development in a Christian environment is just as important as academic and social growth. This month, our students had the joy of creating and studying their very own prayer books. Each child took a copy home to continue their prayer practice with family, and we made additional copies available in the school library for rereading and reflection.

These prayer books help our students learn how to pray in simple, age-appropriate ways. They explore different prayer postures—eyes open or closed, hands folded or open—and offer examples of what children can pray for, such as their families, friends, teachers, pets, and even their boo-boos. It is a hands-on activity that gently introduces the concept of speaking to God throughout the day.

We view daily prayer as a spiritual skill that supports the school readiness we strive for in all areas. Our preschool program is designed to prepare children for kindergarten through a balance of play-based learning and early-childhood education. In addition to spiritual growth, students develop foundational skills in letters, counting, reading, teamwork, and social skills; all within an environment led by certified teachers and qualified educators who provide individualized attention in small class sizes.

We are committed to nurturing the whole child guided by 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

It is our prayer that the lessons our students learn here will stay with them for a lifetime.
