Bringing Learning to Life: Real-World Adventures at Foundations Academy of Clarksville

Recently, we took this to the next level with a special hands-on experience that had our students soaring—literally!
A Flight to Remember: Our Airport Adventure
To teach our students about the exciting world of air travel, we recreated a full airport experience right here at school! With the help of our staff, students went through the process of "checking in," going through "security," and boarding a pretend airplane complete with seat belts, tray tables, and even an "in-flight snack." This rolling cart made it such a realistic experience.
This imaginative, play-based learning activity sparked curiosity, built vocabulary, and encouraged language development. Our young travelers learned new words like "pilot," "passport," and "boarding pass" while practicing letters, counting, and reading on signs and menus. They even role-played as flight attendants and passengers, developing social skills and teamwork along the way. Each student's ticket included a capital letter, and to find their seat on the "plane," they had to find the corresponding lowercase letter. Get your own version here!
