Ustadah Tahira Ejaz (Umm Maryam) was born and brought up in Saudi Arabia. She has completed a degree in Islamic Studies, Islamic History, and Arabic. She has studied under great scholars, obtaining an ijaazah in 25+ books with Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Qasim (Imam of Khateeb of Masjid An-Nabawi) and has also studied with Shaykh Saleh Al Osaimi (Teacher at Mecca and Medina Masjids).
She has studied books of Hadith, Aqeedah, Tajweed, Seerah and Fiqh, and has knowledge of comparative religions and interpretations. She has delivered lectures on various Islamic topics, having delivered talks in multiple conferences across the UK, one of which was with Shaykh Sudais' sister.
She is a qualified teacher with 12 years’ experience in teaching Islam to a wide range of levels and audiences. This is in and out of the UK, including 6 years in Medina at a Da'wah organisation and online with various organisations. She founded Darul Hijrah Online Academy in 2019 to spread authentic Islamic knowledge and has trained teachers at E-dialogue Institute. She is currently working as Head of Da'wah and Head Teacher at Islam Dewsbury.
