As part of DIW, a major ISoc initiative entails inviting guest speakers to deliver lectures and talks on a topic of their choice to their campus community. FOSIS provides Islamic Societies speakers to book for their DIW events, allowing ISocs to easily hold talks to remind, educate and call people to Islam. These speakers are experts within their field and well known community leaders, Imams, teachers and scholars.
FOSIS are here to provide ISocs speakers for both in-person and virtual DIW events, and will work with ISocs and their requested speakers to make arrangements for each DIW event. This year, our DIW Speaker Tour consists of speakers from a wide range of backgrounds and areas of expertise, so ISocs will be sure to find speakers that fit into their theme and vision for DIW, Bi'idhnillāh
Our DIW23 Speakers fall within two main strands: ‘Da’wah’ and ‘Fundamentals of Islam’, and are available for booking between the 23rd January - 31st March (though we are able to fulfil speaker requests outside of this timeframe as well!). Scroll down to find out more!
Da'wah, in essence, was the call of all the Prophets and Messengers to worship Allāh ﷻ alone and the act of calling people to the ultimate and only truth, Islam. Giving Da'wah is a responsibility on all of us and does not require you to be a profound expert on all aspects of Islam; however, having clear and correct knowledge on core elements is key for having the confidence to give Da’wah.
This year FOSIS will be organising a national Da’wah Training for all ISoc committee members and volunteers on how to give effective and meaningful Da’wah. This will also enable ISocs to address some common challenges and pitfalls faced by students while giving Da’wah in a University context. Keep an eye on our social media for further details!

“Invite to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.” (Qur’an, an-Nahl: 125)
Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said “Convey from me, even if it is one verse. (al-Bukhaari- 3461)
