📚 Senior Study Leave – Important Information 📚
As Senior Study Leave begins, here’s everything you need to know about using the Library as a study space:
✅ Study Spaces Available
There are 24 study spaces set up around the six central tables in the Library.
If these are full, you’ll need to find an alternative study area—the large table is reserved for public use at all times.
✅ Sign In on Arrival
All students must sign in at the school’s main reception and at the Library desk, as advised by SMT.
✅ Library Availability
Please note:
• The Library may be unavailable on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons due to scheduled programmes.
• Monday mornings can be noisy during Story & Rhyme sessions.
✅ Follow School Phone Policy
The school’s mobile phone policy applies in the Library throughout study leave.
✅ Food & Drink
Only water is allowed.
Senior pupils are welcome to use the coffee machine.
✅ Be Respectful
Keep conversations quiet to support others who are studying.
✅ Look After Your Belongings
Do not leave personal items unattended—the Library is a public space and staff cannot take responsibility for lost property.
Best of luck with your studying, seniors! You’ve got this 💪✨

🚯 Keep Fortrose Clean – Respect Our School & Community 🌍
A reminder to all students: please don’t drop litter during break and lunchtime—on school grounds or in the wider community.
Fortrose Academy is proud of its strong relationship with our local community, and we all have a role in keeping that bond positive. Littering not only affects the environment but also how our school is seen by others.
Let’s show respect, take responsibility, and keep our spaces clean. 💙
Bin it or take it with you.
Fortrose Academy pupil reminder: No food or drinks should be consumed in the PE changing rooms. Water only. Thanks.

TOILETS 🚽
Following consultation with pupils and parents, we have decided to zone toilets according to year groups on a trial basis.
This will come into effect immediately after the October holiday.
Toilets for specific year groups are detailed below and we would be grateful if you could familiarise yourself with these arrangements:
S1/S2 - Technical & Business
S3/S4 - Guidance corridor
Boys' Toilets Opposite Guidance Office🚻🚽
If you require to use the boys' toilets opposite the Guidance Office during a teaching period, please go to the Deputes' Office and ask to use the toilet.
The toilets will then be unlocked to allow you to use them.
If no depute is in the office come to the school office to ask.
The toilets will be open at intervals and lunchtimes.
S5/S6 - Maths
Students with specific needs will continue to access all toilets across the school.
We continue to encourage our young people to use toilets appropriately to allow others access.
There will inevitably be some adjustments made as we implement and review this new approach.
We thank you for your support with this matter.
HOSPITALITY
Reminder that pupils should bring their own reusable container from home when they are cooking.
These can be left in Kitchen 2 in the morning and picked up at the end of the day.
Mental health Ambassadors
Meetings are every Thursday at lunchtime.
If any new members are interested in becoming a mental health ambassador or have an interest in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing within the school, please come along to R35 on Thursday, all are welcome.
Also please remember to bring your lunch along.
College Pupils
Days, times and courses are on display outside guidance.
Please check these if you are unsure about your College course.

Supporting Attendance & Punctuality at Fortrose Academy
At Fortrose Academy, we are committed to giving every young person the best possible chance of success. As part of this, we are placing a renewed focus on reducing latecoming and improving overall attendance, which we know has a direct impact on attainment, wellbeing, and learning.
We need your support.
Ensuring pupils arrive at school on time, every day helps them settle into learning, reduces anxiety, and maximises valuable teaching time.
What’s changing?
For the next two weeks, pupils who arrive late to school will be required to sign in at the Depute Head Teacher’s Office using the late sign in sheet. This is a supportive measure designed to help pupils reflect on punctuality and establish positive habits.
Our goal - Unity
By working together—school, pupils, and families—we aim to boost attainment, strengthen routines, and support our young people to achieve their full potential.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our pupils be present, be punctual, and be ready to learn.
