Student Expectations

Absent days: Students are responsible for any work and material covered on a day they missed by looking at Google Classroom stay up to date on what is going on in the classroom and what they missed.

Re-takes - To retake a quiz / DCA

1. need to fix the errors on your quiz

2. turn in any missing assignments from the current unit

3. make an appointment to go over it.

Late-work

• will be accepted UNTIL the DCA for that unit. No late work will be accepted after the DCA.

What to Expect from Me

• My plan is to have the grade book updated in a timely manner. I update grades every other week. This includes late work.

• Parent and student contact. I contact parents and students before a major DCA or project.

• There will be NO extra credit opportunities, as Spanish is a standards based class.

Academic Dishonesty and Google Translate

• DO NOT USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE OR ANY OTHER TRANSLATING SERVICE AT ALL.

• It's easy to tell when it is used based on grammar, syntax, context, and tone.

• Keep in mind that you are a LANGUAGE LEARNER: therefore, your English skills will be much more advanced than your Spanish skills.

• I will NEVER assign something that requires vocabulary or grammar you do not know.

• Work that is either translated or is not original to the student will be subject to ZERO points and will NOT be allowed to be resubmitted.
