Be on time
Looks like: being in our seat when the bell rings, ready to learn
Assignment Expectations
Most of our assignments will be done on Google Classroom, with a healthy dosage of reading and paper/pencil activities
My goal is to make every assignment, activity, task, discussion, etc., reflect in the gradebook in some way. Therefore, you will see assignments that grade you on your participation with notes and discussion, alongside the more traditional assignments, activities, and assessments. I do this to reward those who come to class every day ready to learn, discuss, and participate.
Late work policy
Please refer to the syllabus on Google Classroom for details regarding the late work policy
My plan is to have the gradebook updated in a timely manner. What that looks like is keeping the grade book updated every week
For Government specifically, my goal is to be engaging and effective. History is one of those subjects that is sometimes forgotten in the core subject areas. However, Learning about history is essential due to the simple fact that there are many lessons we can learn from the historical figures - famous or infamous - and the everyday person who came before us.
Another goal of mine is to have my students leave this course well-informed of their rights and the powers they wield as American citizens. All with the overarching goal of preparing my students for the "real world" that awaits them.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
