Attendance
Students are to be sitting in their assigned spot in their squad when the bell rings. If students are not in their spot they will be marked tardy. Students who are absent will have the opportunity to make up daily points through an alternate assignment.
Dress Code
Dressing out is optional, but highly encouraged. Regardless if students are dressing out or not students must follow the proper dress code.
T-shirt (not a polo or buttoned shirt), gym shorts, socks, tennis shoes, no large jewelry.
Sweatshirts & sweatpants.
Shoes must be tennis shoes: No crocks, sandals/slides, slippers etc. Teacher will determine if they are appropriate or not. If inappropriate, students will be asked to change or receive a “no dress”.
Shorts must be an athletic style short. Shorts must be an appropriate length. It is up to the teacher’s discretion if shorts are too long, or too short. If inappropriate, students will be asked to change or receive a “no dress”.
T-shirts must be appropriate. Cutoffs are acceptable as long as they are appropriate. This is at the teacher’s discretion.
Ex. Guys: Cutoffs shouldn’t be open down to your waist.
Girls: Sports bras are undergarments, which means under your clothes. Cutoff/tanks shouldn’t be revealing and must still follow the school dress code.
Grading Procedures
Grades will be determined according to attendance, proper attire, participation and behavior.
In general P.E will receive 5 points a day for a total of 25 points a week on a normal school week. If students are absent, refuse to participate, don't have proper attire, or cause behavior problems, they will lose points for the day.
Late work policy
Students can make up absences through one of the following ways: a one page paper over a health or sport related topic (Paper written in MLA format, NOT PLAGIARIZED), a 30 minute workout (logged with an approved app), or walking 10,000 steps in a day. If a student is choosing to make up those days, they will have one week from their absence to submit those make up assignments. Submission of these assignments will happen through google classroom, and be titled with the date of the absence they are making up.
If a student will be absent for a long period of time, they need to discuss makeup options with their teacher.
