Career Exploration Internships

Our objective is to prepare students to enter the work force with a better idea of the career they are interested in. We place students in internships to explore their career interests. We also work on resume writing, interview skills, career planning, goal setting, and soft skill development.

CAREER EXPLORATION INTERNSHIP

Credit: 1 Unit Grade Level: 11, 12

This course will take place during two hours of the school day during a single semester for a total of 1 credit. Students will be placed in their semester long internship based on their career interests. Having transportation is encouraged, but not required. Internships will be within the community or District departments.

This course will allow students to participate in an unpaid, career-focused experience during which they become directly involved in the workplace. This experience provides an opportunity for them to apply the skills obtained in school to real work situations and to learn additional skills. An internship will also help students define career goals. This course is repeatable.
