Rooted in Reading is our commitment to expanding access to books and literacy resources throughout Appalachian communities.

Appalachia is rich in storytelling tradition, resilience, and creative voice — but many communities across the region face barriers to book access, educational resources, and literary programming.

The Rooted in Reading  exists to:

1. Increase access to diverse and contemporary books

2. Support rural and under-resourced readers

3. Partner with local organizations and educators

4. Celebrate Appalachian voices and narratives

5. Invest in long-term literacy initiatives rooted in community care
