About Us

Why do we exist?

Simply put: Fort Baptist exists because we are called by God to spread the Kingdom of God into our community.

Tragically, people live their lives and miss out on the greatest love and gift there is: knowing and living for God. We believe life is best lived in relationship with God, and we want every person in our community to know Jesus. Jesus commanded us to tell others about Him (Matthew 28:18-20), and because we know Him, we want others to know Him as well! Jesus has changed our lives and we want others to know His transformation. We do not exist to only be inside the walls of a building, we exist to see our community changed. We do not exist to grow in numbers, we want to see transformation in people's lives. We exist to spread the Kingdom of God into our community.

Where did we come from?

My wife and I (Pastor Ryan) moved to Fort Oglethorpe nearly 10 years ago and fell in love with the community. Over the years, our passion and desire to make Kingdom impact in this community  grew as the Lord opened many doors for us to make a difference in this community. The Lord brought our leadership together with a similar mission and vision, and we were blessed to plant Fort Baptist Church after much prayer. Originally meeting at the American Legion on Sunday nights, then the Ringgold Colonnade, then the Battlefield Community Seventh Day Adventist Church, and we currently reside where God blessed us with the property FOR FREE! We renovated the property and began meeting at 2183 Dietz Road (the previous Clearview Baptist Church) on May 5, 2024! Every location we have been at we have grown, seen community impacted by the Kingdom, and we are excited about seeing what God will do in and through us in the future! We have seen the Lord do incredible things and open huge doors, and we are believing He will continue to do so to grow His church and impact our communities!

Where are we going?

We believe the best days are ahead for Fort Baptist! We believe we will see God do incredible things in our church and community. We are praying for these things in 2025:

We meet on Sundays at 11 AM and on Wednesdays at 6:45 PM.
