📝What are we currently learning in 5th Grade?📝
ELA: We will be starting on expository techniques as well as seeing how nonfiction texts sometimes include narrative techniques!
Math: Dividing Whole Numbers (ex: 4,562/25); Quiz on Thursday, 9/24 (we will complete a Study Guide in class on Wednesday and check with the answer key)
Social Studies: We are beginning a DBQ (Document-Based Questions)about Life on the Plains: A Letter Home. Students will analyze multiple sources, collect evidence, and write a letter by the end of the unit.
Science: Physical Changes, Mixtures & Solutions, States of Matter and Chemical Changes review. Test Tuesday, September 22th. study notes, digital materials in canvas.
Don't forget to check your child's weekly "The Comet Way" reflection sheet!

Toys are not permitted at school unless we have a bring your toy to school day. Please help us by ensuring that all plushies, squishes, and other toys stay at home. Thank you!

Make sure students are confident with their facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)- they can practice through Xtramath!

Did you know that if you wanted to turn off the ability for your child to get "extras" in the lunch line, you can email Ms. Lisa Lopez, our cafeteria manager, about doing that! Reach out to Ms. Lopez via email and she can let you know what "extras" you can turn off and how to do it.
