The Parent Lighthouse Team is a dedicated group of families who partner with our school to strengthen leadership, build community, and support a positive school culture for every student. United by a shared belief that every child can lead, this team plays a vital role in bringing our leadership vision to life beyond the classroom.

Our Parent Lighthouse Team works alongside staff and students to:

• Support school-wide leadership initiatives and celebrations

• Foster strong connections between families, students, and staff

• Promote leadership habits at home and in the community

• Champion a culture of belonging, collaboration, and service

Through volunteering, planning, and advocacy, our Parent Lighthouse Team helps ensure that leadership is not just something students learn—but something they live every day. Their time, energy, and heart make a lasting impact on our school community, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to our shared mission.

We are the Parent Lighthouse Team of VCE. It is our mission to serve as a vital bridge between home and school, partnering with famiiles to bring the 8 Habits into everyday life. Through collaboration, education, and leadership, we aim to build a strong community of confident, joyful learners and compassionate leaders.

Since its re-establishment in the 2024-2025 school year, the Parent Lighthouse Team has continued to positively impact our school community and culture.  Below are just a few ways the PLT has had impact.

• Completion of the Leader In Me Family Certfication

• Contribution to the school's bi-weekly community newsletter, highlighting the Leader In Me framework and how families can practice the 8 Habits at home

• Contributed easy-to-execute ideas for improving our monthly Principal Pal student celebration 

• Connected with other Leader In Me schools in Georgia and executed lost & found donations

• Helped facilitate West Community "Day of Giving"

• VCE Habit Garden

  • • Connected with local businesses to obtain donations for garden

    • Worked on weekends to spread mulch, lay pavers, etc.

    • Worked with Mrs. Lemke, art teacher, and Mrs. Crouse, Leader Lab teacher, to collaborate on student rock painting
