We can't wait to see you soon!
Establish and maintain a regular routine in your household. It helps to do this a week or so before the start of school. Starting school is a big change. Routines help children feel more secure and comfortable.
Communicate regularly with your child's teacher and share any concerns you may have regarding your child. This helps set up your child for success.
Instill in your child the importance of reading. Set aside a time each day to read to your child. We encourage 30 minutes per day.
Attend school events and volunteer when you can and become involved in the school community.
Goodbyes can be difficult, especially the first few days. Practice a quick goodbye and make a plan together for something to look forward to after school.
Ask specific questions about school. Avoid "How was your day?" Instead ask, "What did you read today?" "What did you learn in math?" Who did you play with?"
