Kayla Thomas

Feeder A

Kayla, "KT", is entering her 3rd season with the North Forsyth Feeder Program. KT graduated from New Braunfels High school in Texas where she currently holds the record for highest hitting percentage. 


KT recently graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City. KT ranks 10th for All-Time Kills in a career (969 kills in 3 yrs). She was co-captain of her collegiate team with numerous all-conference honors. 


Before moving to Georgia, KT worked with several Texas high school volleyball programs and coached 15s for Rise Volleyball in OKC. She currently coaches at A5 Volleyball Club and is earning her Masters of Public Health at Emory University. 

   Stephen Pate

Feeder B

This will be Stephen's 16th year of coaching volleyball. In addition to his 2 years of coaching in the Feeder program, he spent 13 years coaching at Sequoyah High School as a Varsity Assistant as well as coaching the Freshman and JV teams, and one year at Lambert as a Varsity Assistant. He is also the Varsity Girls Tennis Coach at Lambert High School where he just completed his 2nd year. He was an assistant on the 2014 volleyball state championship team and on three teams that finished State Runner-up. He was the head coach of the 2021 State Runner-up in tennis. He has coached basketball and golf as well. He coached at A5 from 2005-2010 working with the 15-1s or 17-1s as needed and was a part of team that qualified for the national tournament in every year but the first. 

 

Stephen is entering his 24th year of teaching math. He played tennis at Brewton-Parker College before moving to the Atlanta area. He, his wife Jessica, and his kids Ansley and Oliver live in northern Forsyth County. He enjoys traveling, reading, coaching, and sports of all kinds.

   Elena Sanderlin

Junior Raiders

Elena is entering her 2nd season with the Junior Raiders Program. She has over 20 years of playing experience which includes: middle school, high school JV and varsity, club, beach, and college.


When Elena moved from New Orleans to Cumming in 2020, she decided to continue her passion of volleyball through coaching. Her first coaching season was at the Dawson County Recreation league during the Spring of 2021 where she coached the 6th grade girls’ team.  Then following, Elena joined A5 Volleyball Club as an instructor at summer clinics and camps. For the 2021-2022 season, Elena was the assistant coach to the A5 Mizuno 10-2 team. Her team placed silver at Southern Regionals Volleyball Association (SRVA) Tournament and at the Peach State Tournament 4.

Elena's main goals are to develop proper techniques and bring confidence to her athletes’ playing abilities.
