About Us

Since its inception in the Fall of 2009, the Lambert Chorus Program has worked as a part of the Lambert Performing Arts Department to present high-quality choral performances throughout the community and beyond.

Highlights:

  • Consistent partnership with the Lambert Orchestras, including performances of "Song of the Universal" by Ola Gjeilo (2016) and "A Celtic Mass" by R. Daniel Holt (2018)
  • Superior and Excellent Ratings in Performance and Sight-Reading at GMEA LGPE
  • Chorus Student participation in:
    • Governor's Honors Program
    • All-State Chorus
    • GHSA Literary Competition
      • Region Championships for Boys Solo (2012, 2018) and Girls Solo (2018)
    • Shuler Hensley Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards; including multiple nominations for Leading Actress and Honorable Mention for Leading Actor
    • Participation in the London International Choral Festival (2015) and Rome New Year's Day Celebrations (2019)

The LHS Chous Program consists of our choruses: the Concert Chorus (Beginning/Intermediate), Chamber Singers (Advanced Mixed) and the Women's Chorale (Advanced Treble) which meet during the school day. The Bella Voce Ensemble (9th/10 Grade Treble Chorus) and newly formed Cantibile (11th/12th Grade Treble Chorus) perform as a part of our GMEA LGPE ensembles. We also feature select special ensembles including but not limited to Solo / Ensemble groups, Literary Team, and Chorus students participate in GMEA District Honor Choruses, All-State Chorus and our musical theater productions. All classes are guided by the standards set forth by the Music Educators' National Conference, The Georgia Music Educators' Association, and the Quality Core Curriculum set forth by the State of Georgia PSC.
