All State Chorus

GMEA All State Chorus is a prestigious event that takes place every year honoring the best singers in the state! All State will be February 13-15, 2025 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA (go dawgs!).

All State Registration & Audition Fee ($25) will be due on Friday, September 6th. To register, please email me with your subject line being “Student name All State”. In the email, please let me know what voice part your student would like to audition with. The voice parts are Soprano, Atlo, High Tenor, Low Tenor, High Bass, and Low Bass. Please let me know if you are not sure what voice part and I will help you! To pay the audition fee of $25, please pay the “All State Chorus Registration Fee” on School Pay. 

There are two total auditions for All State Chorus. The first audition is November 2nd (location TBD). After registration is complete, they will give you a time slot that your audition will take place during.

The first audition consists of a solo. There are specific keys for each voice part. To help you choose which voice part, listen along to each and see which one fits best! All materials will be in our chorus shared google drive folder. 

Students will also have to sight read 3 different sight reading examples. Students will also have to sing the Major, Minor, and Chromatic Scales.

Your student will be given a score based on all of the components of their audition. After the audition is completed, there will be a “cutoff score” named for each voice part based on the number of students auditioning and the scores of auditions. If your students score is at or above the cutoff score, then they have moved on to the next round! Please note: making All State Chorus is an incredible accomplishment! Hard work and practice are integral to making a high score.

If passed on to the second audition, you will be given pieces of choral music to practice and you will be asked to sing your part in the audition room to ensure you know your part of the music.

The second audition is January 23rd at West Forsyth High School.
