Coal Mountain Families,
What a fantastic time we've had on The Mountain recently! We are so thrilled to announce that Mrs. Michelle Hilger is our 2025-2026 CME Teacher of The Year!!!! She is so very deserving!
We are also honored to win a grant from The Forsyth County Education Foundation, sponsors of The FCS Duck Dive! Mrs. Webb wrote a grant for robotics to use in Discovery Lab so that every Miner can learn about coding and dig deeper into critical and creative thinking skills in a new and engaging way! Congratulations, Mrs. Webb!
We also welcomed the Boosterthon for our PTO Diamond Color Run, our biggest fundraiser of the year!!! Students had so much fun with daily challenges, earning fun rewards like sliming All-Star Alan, and having dance parties on the playgrounds. Remember to login to MyBooster.com with your child to help them use their points in the Rewards Store! The Rewards Store will close September 19th.
Although the event is over, there is still time to donate to help with our playground enhancements! We hope to reach our goal and even go beyond that if possible! Thank you for your generosity and support of our Miners and our Coal Mountain community!

Did you know that regular school attendance is one of the biggest predictors of student success? When students show up each day, they stay on track with learning, build strong relationships, and develop habits that last a lifetime. Even just a few missed days can add up, making it harder to catch up academically and socially. Our Miners do best when they are at school all day, every day!
Let’s work together to help every student show up, grow, and thrive—because every day truly counts!
As a reminder, the latest you can check your child out from the front office is 1:45pm. If you come later than that you will be asked to meet your child through their regular afternoon transportation method.
