The Lady Buffs had two games Thursday, May 6. In Littlefield against Clarendon. They walked away with two victories that day, and they are now Area Champs .In the first game they had 15 runs in the third inning by K’Leigh Williams, Reagan Phillips, Lindsey Morin, Lybertee Rodriquez, and Phillips. Doubles by Kelcey Zubiate, Morin and Hannah Williams. Reagan Phillips started off in the mound, and lasted three innings allowing only two runs on two hits, and walking one. In the second game the score was 6-11. Maegan Garza led things off in the pitcher’s mound, lasting three innings and allowing four hits and zero runs while walking none. Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate, and K’Leigh, Hannah Williams, and Beall each collected multiple hits for Forsan. Come support the Lady Buffs Thursday and Friday against Floydada, in Brownfield.

The Forsan Lady Buffs played against C-City in Coahoma at 7:00 Monday, April 26, and took another victory 6-7. Maegan Garza was in the circle for Forsan Lady Buffs Varsity. The righty surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, walking one. Forsan Lady Buffs Varsity collected nine hits on the day. Aubrie Smith and Reagan Phillips each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Buffs Varsity team. Smith went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Lady Buffs collected nine hits and Colorado nine in the high-scoring affair.The Forsan Lady Buffs play against Lockney in Sundown at 5:00.

The Forsan Lady Buffs played Tahoka on Friday, April 23. They had another victory, as 14-2 was the final score. Aubrie Smith came to the ballpark and meant business, rallying four hits. Both Lindsey Morin and Aubrie Smith had home runs this game. The run was Lindsey's first one of this year and number six for Aubrie. Reagan Phillips led things off on the rubber, lasting two innings and allowing only five hits and two runs while striking out one and walking one. The Forsan Lady Buffs have another game Monday, April 26 against C-City in Coahoma at 7:00. Come and support your Lady Buffs.

On Friday April 16, 2021, the Forsan Buffaloes Varsity baseball team had a home game against the Colorado Bulldogs. The boys won 10-0 against the Bulldogs. Brandon Valdez threw a no-hitter this game to lead the Buffaloes to victory. In the first inning, Major Stockton doubled at the first pitch scoring one run. In the fourth inning there were four total runs for the Buffaloes. Brandon Valdez allowed zero hits over six innings, striking out nine. The Forsan Buffaloes totaled nine hits in all by Major Stockton, Drayklyn Henry, and Kevin Kligora. Major Stockton went three-for-four at the plate to lead the Buffs in hits. The Buffaloes didn't commit a single error this game, with Cayden Morgan making the most plays.

Tuesday night at 4:30 the Forsan softball team recognized this year’s seniors. Hannah Williams and Rylee Evans were given a gift basket that included letters from the rest of the Varsity team. Emotions were in the air as these girls were being announced onto the field. These seniors were welcomed onto the field by their teammates who held bats over the senior’s heads while they walked on the field with their parents. Forsan will miss Hannah and Rylee but hope that they have a great rest of the season for their final year in high school softball.

The girls varsity softball team played Friday, April 16 at 5:00, but lost 14-6. Aubrie Smith surrendered 14 runs on 18 hits over seven innings, striking out 11. Kelcey Zubiate and Smith all managed multiple hits for Forsan Lady Buffs. When asked about the team, fan Jerrod Beall said, ”I think you all will do great! I enjoy seeing each of you encourage one another when it’s tough and celebrate your successes as a team. Of course I enjoy watching the girls play. I love this game and this group of kids. You all have worked hard for many years to be the best player you can be, and we are seeing the results of that now. Another fan, Angie Williams, responded, “I think you all will do great Friday. This Lady Buff team has a lot of depth and talent. That’s in our offense and our defense. I love watching this team play. Not only do I have two daughters on this team, but I have coached many of these girls as young girls so this makes it very special to get to watch them at a high school level. The Forsan Lady Buffs have a game Tuesday night against Seagraves.

The Forsan Lady Buffs Jv softball team went to Post this Saturday and came back with a winning score of 15-0. The girls started out on the field with an outstanding performance from everyone on the field. Freshman Emma Buske had an outstanding at-bat, hitting one deep over the fence. Sophomore Shylee Gulley stated, “The team did well. They went out there and did what they needed to do and got the job done.” Freshman Maegan Garza and Emma Buske started the game pitching and catching, allowing no runners in scoring position. Overall, the Jv girls had an outstanding performance against the Post Antelopes.

On Friday, the Forsan Buffaloes Varsity baseball team had a game against Ozona in Forsan. The Forsan Buffs defeated Ozona 15-6 on Friday. In the first inning, Ozona scored two runs. In the bottom of the second inning, the Buffs were in the lead 3-2 scoring a single run. In the bottom of the third inning, the Buffaloes scored five total runs. Sawyer Stallings scored two runs and an error scoring three runs and singled on a 1-1 count. Nolan Park was on the mound up to bat lasting three innings with three hits, six runs, and striking out two. In total, the Buffs had 11 total hits in the entire game. Bradlee Saucedo, Kevin Kligora, and Brandon Valdez each had many hits for the Buffaloes, leading them to a 15-6 victory.

On April 10th, 2021 the Forsan Girls track team went to the Area Meet in Wink, Texas. Rylee Evans placed 2nd in the 800 meter. Aleena Nelson placed 1st in shot put with a throw that beat her PR (personal record.) The 4x100 relay which consisted of Torah Smith, Natalie Franco, Neveah Hernandez and Enjolina Hawks had a time of 52 seconds, which put them in 5th place. However, the 2nd place team, Coleman, had a lane violation which disqualified them from advancing to regionals. This resulted in the Forsan Girls 4x100 advancing. The following girls placed in the top 4 for their events and are going to regionals.

I am so lucky to have these girls in my life and I am so very grateful for this opportunity given to me by my coaches.”

The Forsan Lady Buffs had another victory of 6-3 against Tahoka. Reagan Phillips got things moving by hitting a single, scoring two runs. The team continued to score, and scored three more by the second innings by Aubrie Smith. Phillips led things off in the circle for Forsan, allowing only one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Smith led Forsan Lady Buffs with two hits in three at bats. When asked about the game, Coach Taylor said, ” I think we performed well. Fielding was pretty solid with very few errors. Hitting was decent. I hope to work on hitting this week in practice to ensure that we are hitting well for the whole game. I think we tend to hit well in the beginning and then don't produce many runs at the end of the game, so that is something I hope to make better. I hope that we play well against both Coahoma and Colorado City. They are both competitive teams and will make us better in the long run.“ The Forsan Lady Buffs play Coahoma Saturday, April 10 .

The Forsan Junior Varsity Softball Team played Tahoka on Tuesday, April 7, 2021. The team earned another Buffalo victory ending at 8-5. The girls played great together on the field. “ I think the team has improved greatly throughout the season,” said Emma Buske, number 11. “It wasn’t our best game but we played well.” The team has won all of their games this season and they hope to continue that streak. Maegan Garza ,number 00, said “ I know we can always do better than what we did but there is room for improvement, and I think we can be really proud of how we have done so far.” Their next game will be against Colorado City on Friday, April 16. The team only hopes to improve as the season progresses. So far, we are all proud of our Lady Buffs!

This Monday, March 29, the Forsan JV Baseball team defeated the Stanton Buffaloes. The Forsan Buffs fought back after falling behind five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback just fell short in the 10-8 win. Freshman Preston Bowlin started the game for the Buffs, only allowing one run and striking out three batters. Later in the game, sophomore Boyzz Stilwell went into the game pitching, allowing four hits and six-run while he struck out two walking one. The Buffs had a great offense throughout the game, including a home run for sophomore Weston Thomas. Thomas led the Buffs with two hits in three at-bats. Bowlin also led the team with 3 stolen bases. It was a good game for the Forsan Buffaloes.

The Jv Tennis had a tournament in Forsan on Thursday, March 25th. The team did fairly well with Hannah Hillger and Trevor Cole getting first place in mixed doubles. Toby Isbell placed third in boys singles. Lastly, Jackson Hopper and Kade Nichols got third place in boys doubles. Overall the team did amazing and we are looking forward to the district games.

The Forsan JV baseball team played Lamesa Monday at Forsan’s home field. The Forsan Buffaloes started strong with 3-1 in the first inning, and 4-1 in the second inning. However, the buffs started to fall behind when the third inning ended with 4-5. The game continued to go back and forth with 8-5 in the fourth inning. Forsan and Lamesa kept inching forward until the final total of Forsan 14 and Lamesa 8. “I think the guys played really good together. They had a lot of fun, and it showed on the field,” said Rylan Smith, a base runner for JV. “I think we will improve by playing together more and keeping our heads up even if we are down.” The team is expected to improve throughout the rest of the season. Forsan can’t wait to see how the boys will play in the coming games.

On March 26, 2020, the Forsan Buffaloes Varsity had a baseball game against the Colorado City Wolves. The Buffaloes had a last minute victory, scoring one point in the final inning and winning the game. The game was tied at nine with Colorado batting in the top of the fifth. The Buffaloes collected 12 hits and Colorado collected 15 hits. The Buffaloes ended things at 13 at the end of the 7th inning with number 7, Major Stockton singling on a 0-1 count scoring 2 runs for the buffs. Number 30, Brandon Valdez, started the game for the Buffaloes, pitching for 2 innings. Valdez had seven hits and six runs while walking one. The Buffaloes has 12 hits total in all 7 innings. Josh Durbin, Cayden Morgan, Stockton and Bradlee Saucedo each scored many hits for the Buffaloes. The overall score for the game was 14-13 with the Buffs victory.

The Forsan Lady Buffs had their first district game against Colorado City on Tuesday, March 23. Both Jv and Varsity teams played. The outcome of the night was outstanding, with the Lady Buffs taking a victory 9-7. Not a single error was committed the entire 7 innings. Reagan Phillips had the most chances on the team with 8. On the mound for the Lady Buffs was Aubrie Smith. She had pitched a total of 7 innings, only allowing 11 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 4 and allowing only 1 to walk. The Forsan Lady Buffs pulled away with 6 runs in the 4th inning. Hailey Beall tripled on the first pitch, scoring 2 runs. K’leigh Williams singled on the first pitch, scoring 1 run. Kelcey Zubiate homered on a 1-2 count, scoring 3 runs. The players racked up 15 hits. Williams, Phillips and Lybertee Rodriquez all managed multiple hits. The Forsan Lady Buffs will be having a game against Post Tuesday, March 30 the time is 5:00-7:00. This will be the Jv and Varsity first home game.

The Lady Buffs had a game Tuesday, March 9th against Ira. They played at the Western Texas College fields in Snyder Texas at 5:00. The score was 12-0 with the Lady Buffs going home with another victory. With Maegan Garza pitching starting off the game strong. The Lady Buffs started scoring with the total of five runs in the fourth inning. With three walks, Lybertee Rodriquez, Maegan Garza, and Hannah Williams, and singles by Emma Buske and Hailey Beall. Meagan Garza pitched for a total of three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six. The Lady Buffs committed no errors on the field with that being said Lybertee Rodriquez had the most chances in the field with 11. Overall it was an outstanding game. The Forsan Lady Buffs have another game Friday, March 12, against Hermleigh, with the location being in Hermleigh. The Varsity and Jv girls will be going from 5:00 to 7:00.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 the Forsan Varsity boys baseball team had a game against the Wink Wildcats in Forsan. In the first inning, the Buffaloes got their offense started with number 42, Nolan Park’s sac fly scoring one run for the Buffaloes. During the second inning, the boys scored eight runs total. The Buffaloes offense during the second inning was from an error on a ball in play by number 7, Major Stockton and number 14, Bradlee Saucedo, as well as a triple by number 42, Nolan Park, a single by number 5, Kevin Kligora, and a double by number 6, Adrian Enriquez. The pitchers for the Forsan Buffaloes were number 30, Brandon Valdez, and number 1, Sawyer Stallings. Number 12, Josh Cervantes, as well as Sawyer Stallings entered the game in the fourth inning to close the game out. The Forsan Buffaloes saw the ball well today, totaling up 13 hits in the game. Stallings, number 3, Cayden Morgan, Kligora and Valdez each had multiple hits during the game for the Buffaloes. Valdez, Kligora, Morgan and Stallings all collected two hits to lead the Buffaloes to victory. Running wild on the base paths, Cayden Morgan had two stolen bases, totaling five stolen bases in the entire game. The Forsan Buffaloes Varsity Baseball team led a victory 22-2 ending the game in the fourth inning.

On Thursday, March 4, 2021 the Forsan track team had a track meet in Coahoma. Although this track meet was a series of unfortunate events, the JV boys placed 4th overall with 57 points, the JV girls placed 4th overall with only 24 points, the Varsity boys placed 3rd overall with 136 points, and lastly, the Varsity girls placed 3rd overall with 82 points in total. The track team is very excited this season as last year's season got cancelled due to COVID. Although there have been many injuries this season, the team is working together and coming back very quickly. There has been lots of improvement in the track team not even half way into the season already and with the fact they didn't have a track season last year. Mackenzie Tollison says she is very excited for her last year of high school track with lots of improvement from the entire team already and looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the team.

The Forsan Lady Buffs had a game Friday,March 5.In Lamesa against Lamesa the V and Jv girls. This will be the first game for the Jv girls. With the final score being 12-0 , the Forsan Lady Buffs took a loss.While it was not the outcome we were looking for, each player did an amazing job,with Hannah Williams laying down a bunt and getting to third base, and Kelcey Zubiate getting a hit to left. They will be having a game Tuesday March 9th in Ira against Ira at 5:00.

Recently, Forsan High School and Junior High has begun it’s annual tennis season. Students are provided the opportunity to participate in meets to play against opposing schools. Additionally, on February 25th and 26th, the High School Junior Varsity and Varsity teams competed in the Sterling City Tennis Tournament. “It was really fun and amazing!” exclaimed Angel McCafferty, a Senior on the Varsity team. She competed in Singles and placed 1st place at the meet. In addition, many of the JV players also found success in the tournament. Rylee Yanez and Kade Nichols placed 1st in Boys Doubles, Toby Isbell and Jaci Stone placed 2nd in Mixed Doubles, and Joanna Gato and Lilly Hoff placed 2nd in Mixed Doubles. With a meet or tournament almost every week, the vast majority of tennis participants have a chance to compete in at least one meet. The Forsan Team Tennis Team competed last Friday and Saturday in Brownfield and placed 3rd as a team. On Friday, February 26th, the JV Boys Baseball team played their first game of the season; their opponent being Sonora High School. The boys had been properly prepared as they had played a scrimmage a week prior. The JV boys team played outstandingly; winning the game 12-0. The game was ended after the 5th inning, as it is a frequent practice for baseball games in instances when one team is heavily in the lead by the 5th inning. The game began at 4:50 p.m, ten minutes before the scheduled start time. While the first game of the season in any sport is intimidating, the JV boys didn’t let it show. I think I speak for all of Forsan when I say I am ecstatic to watch the 2021 baseball season progress. If you are interested, the varsity baseball boys play in a 3-day tournament this Thursday through Saturday(Mar 4-6) in Hawley.

The Forsan Lady Buffs played in a tournament in San Angelo. It started Thursday afternoon and ended Saturday night. They placed 3rd in all. They had played a total of five games. The first game of the day on Friday was Lady Buffs against Eldorado with the ball game score being 9-2. The second game was 12-2 against Winters. K’leigh Williams scored on a pass ball in the first inning, including Aubrie Smith stealing a base, and Kelcey Zubiate hitting a double . The third game for Friday night was against Anson, with the score of 16-1. The first game for Saturday was 5-5 ending in a tie for the Lady Buffs against Hamlin. The second game for the Lady Buffs Saturday was 11-12 with the Forsan Lady Buffs taking the win against Eldorado. Each girl got on base in the 1st inning. The Lady Buffs will be having a game this Friday, March 5th against Lamesa in Lamesa from 5:00-7:00.

On Monday, February 8, 2021, the Forsan Buffs freshman boys basketball team had their last game of the season. The boys played against the Winter Blizzards in Forsan at 7 pm. The starting lineup for the game was number 5 Jake Myers, number 13 Grant Roman, number 24 Seth Richardson, number 33 Brycen Cervantes, and number 41 Toby Isbell. By half time, the score was 12-9 with the Forsan boys in the lead. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 19-15 again with the Forsan boys in the lead. The final score was 26-19 with the Buff boys leading a victory for their final game of the 2020-2021 season.

On Tuesday January 26, 2021 the Forsan Lady Buffs had a district basketball game against the Miles Bulldogs in Miles. It was senior night in Miles on Tuesday. Then seniors were announced and given a gift before the game started. The game started out really good for the Buffaloes. They kept a lead the whole game. Around the 3rd quarter the score started getting closer which had everyone on the edge of their seats. The stands on each side were going crazy as fanx were getting so anxious and excited. The final score of the game was 44-30 with the Forsan Lady Buffs taking a victory home. The wise words from Coach Brown this week are “If we can put the orange round thing in the tall basket we’ll be good.”

The Forsan Buffalo Varsity Basketball Team played Miles on January, Tuesday 27, 2021. After four quarters of back and forth scoring and four vast minutes of overtime, the Forsan Buffaloes were defeated by Miles 66-60. Mason Hillger scored the majority of the team's points with 16 total points overall. Cayden Morgan and Josh Cervantes both fouled out during the second half of the game but contributed a total of 15 joint points the the game. Major Stockton suffered an elbow to the head which caused him to start bleeding during the third quarter. He was quickly treated by Assistant Coach Hillger and resumed playing soon after. Both teams used every second they had to try and get ahead of the other. The end of the game ultimately resulted in a loss but anyone who was at the game should have no doubt the Forsan Buffaloes left everything they had on the court. Forsan is immensely proud of their performance and can only wish them improvement throughout the rest of the season.

On Friday, January 29th, Senior Night will take place. The event will be held between JV Girls and the JV Boys game, approximately at 5. Senior Night will honor the senior athletes in basketball. Senior Night is an annual event, held for the majority of the sports at our school, on the last home game of the season. The event is known for being an emotional reminder/farewell to the seniors and the end of the particular sport’s season. Senior Night honors the seniors and their high school years.
“Senior Night came sooner than everyone thought, and for seniors, it will be even more emotional during the ceremony,” Maegan Garza stated.
The list goes as follows: JV Girls play at 4, followed by Senior Night at 5, then the JV Boys at 5:15, Varsity Girls at 6:30, and lastly Varsity Boys at 8.
JV games are free admission, Varsity games require tickets.

The Forsan Jv boys played Colorado City on February, Tuesday 19, 2021. The game resulted in a Buffalo victory. The ending score was 41-35. The Buffaloes kept a firm grip on the C-City Wolves throughout the entire game. The boys were down five points after the first quarter. However, they quickly redeemed themselves taking the lead in the second quarter and keeping it throughout the rest of the game. Connar Hair was the highest scoring player making twelve points in the first half alone and finishing the game with fifteen points. Chris Mendez was the second highest scoring player making thirteen points in total. This puts the team's record at 12 wins and 3 losses for the entire season. Each player showed an extraordinary amount of dedication to the game and the team.

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, the Forsan Lady Buffs had a district basketball game against the Colorado City Wolves. In the first few minutes of the first quarter, the coach on the Colorado City Wolves got a technical foul. The Forsan Lady Buffs got the chance to shoot free throws because of this technical. Coach Johnson picked senior, Rylee Evans, to shoot free throws for the Lady Buffs. Rylee Evans made both of her free throws when she was shooting for the technical. The entire game was very close with the Buffs and the Wolves. The stands on both sides were on edge and very anxious the whole game. The final score was 45 to 43 with the Colorado City Wolves defeating the Forsan Lady Buffs. Coach Brown says, "I am ready for Friday's game and ready to work with the girls to make them better.“

The Forsan Lady Buff Jv basketball team has had a great start to their season, with a 4-2 district record. This group of girls has only lost two games, both to the Colorado City Jv team. The first game was a close 34-31 loss. The second loss was a 36-34 final score in a tight overtime. Both of these games have been very close and competitive; the girls have taken these losses to heart without allowing them to affect the way they will play the next time they step on the court. On the positive side they have won four games, two against Winters, one against Roscoe, and the other against Coleman. The first time the Jv team played Winters they dominated their opponent, taking home a huge 40-4 victory, and the second win was by a 50-9 margin. When they played Roscoe for the first time they won 30-11. The game against Coleman was a bit close, with a final score of 36-29. Throughout the young season the girls have worked hard and given it everything they had every time they compete. This is just the beginning for this amazing, hard working, and talented group of girls. According to starting post player K’leigh Williams, “Even though the beginning of the season was a little rough, we have stepped up to the plate week after week to prove that we deserve to be on the court.” Lilly Hoff says, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”

The Forsan Powerlifting team will have a meet this Saturday, January 22. The meet will be hosted in Coahoma. This will be Forsan’s second meet this month, and the team won’t have another one until February. Powerlifting originated from Greece when the men competed by lifting stones and showing their strengths and manhood. It has been an olympic sport since 1896. The modern sport originated in the United Kingdom, when it became a real sport. The first ever female world championships were held in 1980 in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. Men’s was introduced before then.In High Schools it is not considered a UIL event. Chris Filoteo Sports Editor from Pleasanton Express states, “Powerlifting is not a UIL activity because the UIL Legislative Council has not voted to add it as a UIL sanctioned sport,”

The Forsan girls powerlifting team had a meet in Colorado City on Saturday, January 16. It was their first powerlifting meet to start off the season. The Forsan powerlifting girls received third place as a whole group, and out of them, four girls placed. Kyndel Lawdermilk placed 3rd, Courtney placed 3rd, and Kelcey Zubiate placed 1st. They all did an amazing job, and showed the competition what Forsan is made of. Reporter Kelcey Zubiate interviewed Coach Strickland and asked her a few questions.
Zubiate: " Do you think all the girls are ready for this first meet?"
Strickland: They should be because we lift twice a week or more since the first day of school.”
Zubiate: "What was your plan to get us ready?"
Strickland: "Lift hard and go over movements.”
The last question that was asked was, "are you nervous about the meet this weekend?" Strickland's response was,” Yes, the covid has changed sports a lot. I just hope the athletes are not nervous.

On Tuesday January 12, 2020 the Forsan Lady Buffs had a district basketball game in Coleman against the Coleman Bluecats. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 15-8 with the Lady Buffs in the lead. By halftime, the score was 33-19 again with the Lady Buffs still in the lead by more this time. The third quarter the Lady Buffs were still leading with 48-32. The fourth quarter started out good, then the Coleman coach did not like a call the ref made. The coach on the opposing team began yelling at the ref. This caused the coach to get a technical, allowing the Forsan Lady Buffs to shoot free throws. Coach Johnson picked senior Rylee Evans to shoot free throws. The stands, as well as the coaches, were upset over the referee’s calls. Coach Johnson says the girls are doing very good with their district games this season. The final game score was 59-35 with the Forsan girls carrying another district victory.

The Forsan Varsity Basketball team played Coleman on January 12, 2020. While it ultimately ended in a loss for Forsan, the boys played well together and are getting better every game. The score was 17-30 at halftime, with Coleman leading the game. The game ended with a 52-64 Coleman victory. However, Forsan put up a great fight despite the game ending in Buffalo defeat. Cayden Morgan had 11 points, making him the highest scoring player that game. Jace Richardson had the most 3-pointers in the game, resulting in 9 points. Ernesto Rivera was the only one to foul out in the game. The highest scorer for Coleman was number 20 with 15 points. Forsan made 64% of the free throws attempted. Overall the boys improved well and can’t wait for another chance to prove what they can do.

The 8th grade and 7th grade B teams were mixed together and both played at 4:30 Thursday at Forsan High School. Radon Baker, Damarion Ausbie, Anthony Martinez, and Kaleb Walker had an outstanding performance throughout the game. They played against Roscoe with a score of 28-5. They earned many points for the team and we were excited about their win against Roscoe.
The 8th grade A team played at 6:30 against Roscoe. They put up a fight, but fell short and were defeated with the score being 14-34.Both teams played really well and put up a fight. Even though one team lost they didn’t let that define them. They played hard throughout the entire game.

On December 1, 2020 the Forsan Buffs basketball boys had a game in Reagan County against the Eagles. The Forsan boys were in the lead up until the end of the 3rd quarter, where they were down by two points. After a very defensive and stressful fourth quarter, the boys pulled back and tied the game up to 50-50. They received 5 minutes of overtime. For almost the entire duration of the game the score was close with Forsan in the lead by two points. The score was 54-52 with 22 seconds left in the game. The Eagles made a 3 pointer with 20 seconds left in the game making the score 54-55 with the Forsan Buff’s loss.

On Friday, November 13, 2020 at 7:30 PM the Forsan Buffaloes football team had their first playoff game of the season. The boys played against San Saba at the Wall stadium. Before the game started, the stadium lights went out due to them getting too hot after being on for too long. Both teams did their run-through in the dark with nothing but the fans' flashlights on. In the first quarter, Nathaniel Hernandez scored the first touchdown of the night for the Forsan Buffaloes, making the score 7-3. At the end of the first quarter Bradlee Saucedo got hurt and was taken out for the rest of the game. Also at the end of the first quarter, San Saba made a touchdown, ending the first quarter with a score of 10-7. Nobody scored a touchdown in the second quarter, but Nolan Park made a field goal tying up the score 10-10. In the end of the third quarter, Josh Cervantes made a touchdown with the score of 17-24. At the very beginning of the fourth quarter, Draklyn Henry got hurt but quickly recovered and was put back in the game. Draklyn Henry was hurt again at the end of the fourth quarter but continued playing. The final score for the game was 31-17 with the Forsan Buffaloes losing.

The Forsan Buffaloes Junior Varsity Girls Basketball team had a home game on Tuesday, November 10. This was the girls’ first game of the 2020-2021 basketball season. The girls played Robert Lee and lost 29-35. Despite losing in the end the Lady Buffs played an amazing game. They displayed great teamwork on offense and showed amazing skill during the game. The Lady Buffs made multiple comebacks throughout the game. K’leigh Williams , number 24, was an excellent asset to the team, scoring most of their points. When Emma Buske, number 25, was asked how she thought the team did her response was, “Overall as a team, I think we played a really great game tonight. I am very proud of every single girl on our team. As always, we have room for improvement, but as a team we worked really hard and played well together.” Emma also stated that she is extremely excited after tonight's game to see what the rest of the season holds for the Lady Buffs. Another player in this game was Morgan Miller , number 14. She showed great sportsmanship throughout the game and the crowd was thrilled to watch her play.

On Friday night the Forsan Buffaloes played in Hawley. Jayden Golleher made the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter by landing on the ball in our touchdown zone. It was a long and stressful night but the team played amazingly. Major Stockton contributed to many of the great plays. While the team showed fierceness and determination, the Buffs were unable to score a touchdown for the last 3 quarters. The Buffs were on the one yard line with 7 seconds to go the last quarter, but they fell short in time and didn’t make the final touchdown, falling short 6 point to be tied. In the end, Hawley won. Come out and support our boy this Friday night as they battle against Wall.

On Thursday, November 5, 2020 the Forsan Junior High football team had their last game of the season. The 7th grade team played Hawley at 5 pm on Friday, and the 8th grade team followed at 6:30 pm. The final score for the 7th grade Buffaloes was a 14-22 loss.The 8th grade team suffered an 8-30 loss.The finals games scores result in a crushing defeat for the junior high football season.
The Forsan Lady Buffs volleyball team will be going to playoffs November 2-3, 2020 for Area. Playoffs start on October 30-31, 2020, but the Lady Buffs have a bi round the first round due to not enough teams. This is the first ever year of varsity volleyball and the first ever year the Lady Buffs are going to playoffs. The Buffs will be playing Sanford Fitch from up by the Oklahoma border. They will be playing in Lubbock, at 6:30 PM. As of now, there are 13 players on the varsity team, Coach Strickland says she will only be taking around 13-14 players to the playoffs. According to Coach Strickland, “We will watch films for the team we're playing, and strategize based on what we see. “

On Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 5 p.m. the Junior High Forsan football boys had a game at the Forsan Buffalo Stadium. On Thursday, the 8th grade boys and 7th grade boys combined teams to play against the Haskell Indians. The Forsan Buffs carried a victory with a score of 14-6.

The Junior Varsity football team played against Haskell in Forsan this past Thursday. This was the JV’s first home game this season. Their first home game was unfortunately cancelled due to the coronavirus. We are fortunate that they were able to play their game this week. Quarterback Cade Wallis scored the winning touchdown, with only 10 seconds left in the game. The JV put up a great fight and won the game 7-6.
On Wednesday, October 14th the Forsan HS cross country meet took place. 8 boys and 6 girls took determination and effort into the meet and did amazing and well at their full potential. Their next goal for today will be to get their times down and to make sure they compete with district teams. As expected by Addie Beall, the junior high will do their best and be able to compete in district. The next Cross Country meet will be on Wednesday, October 21st.

The Forsan Buffaloes will be playing this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Forsan Buffalo Stadium. This is the Buffaloes first game back since the COVID break. As of now, the boys are 2 and 2. This Friday, the Buffaloes will be playing C-City as their first district game. So come out to support the boys as they win a victory at their first district game this season.

This Tuesday, October 20, 2020 Forsan High School had a senior volleyball night. This night is to recognize the seniors that play on the volleyball team. The seniors were escorted out by their parents and given a gift basket from the players. After they were recognized, the varsity girls played at 6 p.m. at the Forsan gym against Buena Vista. This was the second to last home game for the girls, then the varsity girls will be off to playoffs. There are 5 seniors on the Lady Buffs volleyball team, Mackenzie Tollison, Kyndel Lawdermilk, Hannah Williams, Celi Luna, and Marcela Siqueiras. Come out and support your lady buffs on senior night!
