CHECKLIST

Thank you for your interest in joining the Forney High School Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Before you begin filling out the application, please note some of the requirements of eligibility:

1.  You must be a sophomore or a junior.

2.  You must have completed one full semester at Forney High School.

3.  You must have a current GPA of a 4.0 (without rounding) on the 5.0 scale 

4.  You must have been enrolled or are currently enrolled in a Pre-AP (advanced), AP, or Dual Credit course, and will continue to take these types of courses.

If you believe you meet these qualifications, you may begin working on the application process. Below is a checklist that you can use to make sure that you have everything in order to be considered for membership. Be sure to note the due dates for each component. No late applications or documentation will be accepted!  This is your responsibility.  

• You have emailed 6 of your current teachers and have asked them to fill out a teacher

      Recommendation form. See Teacher Recommendation link below.

• You have written your essay and included it with your application.

• You and your parents have read the NHS Handbook (link in the application).

      Make sure to sign the application acknowledging that you have read it.

The FHS NHS Faculty Council views your application, essay, and teacher recommendations.  Both your GPA and discipline record will be checked through the office by Ms. Shaw.
