Costumes
Alterations
During costume distribution your teacher will be checking that the costume is being worn correctly and fits your dancer. If your teacher recommends alterations, please bring the costume to the studio April 27th 2024 for FREE alterations. Costumes will be altered and ready for pickup prior to picture week.
Dress Code No-No's
NO jewelry of any kind! This includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, anklets, etc. No fingernail or toenail polish!
DO NOT wear underwear or bras under your costumes. They will show through the costume on stage. We recommend nude or flesh colored leotards with clear straps for modesty purposes.
DO NOT allow the students to wear their costume(s) prior to photos, dress rehearsals, and the performances. Accidents can happen and we do not have replacement costumes.
DO NOT wash costumes in your washing machine nor by hand, you may have them dry cleaned only after the recital.
Costumes
Make sure all alterations have been completed!
Label EVERYTHING!
Do not wear Recital tights until June 18th!
Ensure your dancer has all of the proper shoes.
No jewelry, gum, or nail polish.
Do not wait until the night before to pack.
Hair
All routines will wear their hair in a low bun parted at the dancer's middle of head.
No curls or bangs should be seen.
Due to a restrictive time schedule, there will be no special hair styles (Hairspray and gel are your friends!)
Boys
Hair neatly combed.
Dance shoes unless otherwise specified by teacher.
Compression shorts for quick changes
Makeup:
All dancers should wear make-up on stage.
Eye, lip and cheek color are very important as the harsh stage lights can wash a dancer's face out.
