As the AHS Boys Soccer season is coming to a close, they have a record of 5-2-2 in conference and 12-4-4 in total. In round one of the tournament, they had a big win against Winton Woods, winning 5-0.
Ryan Wagner, the starting goalie for the Raptors, has 118 saves, capping off his senior season. Wagner mentions one of his favorite games this year.
“Beating Milford was pretty fun,” Wagner (12) said.
As a freshman joining the varsity team this year, Max Braddock believes that the team bonds both on and off the field.
“Through practice and bus rides after games,” Braddock (9) said.
Braddock, as a freshman, scored seven goals and had two assists. With that, he mentions his most memorable game.
“When we played McNick, I scored my first varsity goal,” Braddock (9) said.
Tyler Miller, a sophomore, had four goals and three assists. He also added that his favorite team memory was when they made it to the Regional Finals and Districts.
The Boys soccer team won districts by defeating Frances de Salles, but ended up being defeated by Kings in the regional game, the round which, if they had won, would have sent them to a state semi-final.
Both Wagner and Miller advised the underclassmen joining the program. Miller shared that one always has to work as hard as possible, while Wagner said to enjoy it while it lasts.
Braddock is already looking ahead in his career and has set some goals for himself, one of them being to get awarded All-District.
Another player that had an outstanding season, Brady Dorko, was named First-Team All ECC and had 12 goals on the season. Wagner was also First-Team All ECC, an impressive achievement for the senior keeper.
Although the Raptor soccer season has ended, it was nothing short of impressive.
