The Bengals are currently ranked third in the AFC North. They had a strong start at the beginning of their season, going 2-0 in their first two regular-season games. The Bengals' starting quarterback, Joe Burrow, went down in the second quarter of the third game with a toe injury. Although he is expected to be out for 3 months after undergoing surgery to repair his toe, his recovery is going better than expected, and he is set to be back in mid-December. The Bengals' backup quarterback, Jake Browning, had to step up and lead the team for the next 3 games, but lost all three of them. The Bengals decided that Jake Browning wasn't playing well, so they traded for Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco is a 40-year-old quarterback. He has played for the Ravens (Baltimore), Broncos (Denver), Jets (New York), Browns (Cleveland), and the Colts (Indianapolis). Another outstanding player is wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. He is second in the league with 720 receiving yards.
The Reds finished third in the National League Central, barely making it into the playoffs. Due to the Reds being a lower seed, they had to play the number one-ranked team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. That resulted in a first-round loss via a two-game sweep in a best-of-three series. Although the Reds didn't go far in the postseason, they had a remarkable season, going 83-79, which is above .500. Some outstanding players for the Reds are Elly De La Cruz with 22 home runs and Spencer Steer with 21 home runs. On the pitching side of things, Brady Singer leads the Reds with the most strikeouts, racking up 163.
As FC Cincinnati’s season is coming to a close, they have entered the postseason tournament. FCC leads the number 7 seed, Columbus Crew, 1-0 in the three-game series. FC Cincinnati is second in the Eastern Conference and is set to go far in the playoffs. FC Cincinnati’s goalkeeper, Roman Celentano, has allowed 157 goals to be scored and has saved 120. Another outstanding player for FC Cincinnati is Evander, with 18 goals, and he is tied in the league for 5th place. He also has 15 assists, which puts him in third for the whole league.
The Bengals' next home game is Sunday, November 24th, and they are facing off against the New England Patriots. Although the Reds are out of season, they are hosting Reds Fest this January on the 16th and 17th, where you can meet former and current Reds players and coaches.
