The Anderson Theater program is kicking off the 2025-2026 season with the 1999 Tony-winning Broadway musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.
“I am most looking forward to the community seeing all of the hard work we’ve been putting in,” Audrey Mendralski (12), student director, said.
The show’s opening night is Thursday November 13 at 7pm, and will also be showing on Saturday November 15th and Sunday November 16th at 3pm. Tickets can be bought at the Anderson Theater and Film or at the door. Online ticket sales end 24 hours before each show. The show is an opportunity for students and parents to support the theatre program and see a family-friendly show.
“In the end you can see the final product, with like every single crew, every single person has a part to play,” Leah Gregoire (10), starring as Snoopy, said.
It’s not just the people on stage who makes this show come to life, directors, and crew members are needed to be able to put together a show that is both musically and visually appealing. The crew is in charge of hair, makeup, set design and other technical functions that go into every show. These jobs are vital for putting on a smooth running show.
The show takes a playful spin on the comic strip created by Charles Shultz. Shultz’s group of characters, known as the Peanuts, appeared in newspapers for 50 years, debuting in 1950 and going into 2000. The show, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown hopes to continue the playful energy Shultz created by bringing it to stage.
“I think [the show] has a lot of funny moments,” Gregoire (10) said.
“Even though it seems childish… it really is all about the heart” Mendralski (12) said.
The cast and crew members believe that the show has such a big moral and heart that all ages will enjoy. With opening night approaching, make sure to check out the Peanuts gang with Anderson’s production of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.
