As November arrives, the weather gets cooler, the leaves start to change, and the fall activities roll in. AHS Students are feeling the fall by participating in their favorite activities during October and November.
“[I like celebrating] Halloween because this is a newer school for me and I've not done anything with these friends,” Rory Cox (9), a new student to the district, said.
Halloween is a highlight of October. Hanging out with friends, watching scary movies, and eating fall treats are all activities that make the fall season special. Popular scary movies include Hocus Pocus, Goosebumps, and Scream.
“I love going to pumpkin patches and picking out pumpkins,” Meg Durham (10) said.
Pumpkin patches are places that always bring the fall season to life. Picking out pumpkins and carving is always a tradition that gets people ready for Halloween. Local pumpkin patches include Burger Farm, located in Newtown, and Iron's Fruit Farm, located in Lebanon.
Along with activities to do outside of school, there are multiple in-school activities that students are looking forward to in October and November.
“I’m a part of theater, so [I’m excited for the] Charlie Brown production and just kind of like building that up to being performed,” Durham (10) said.
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a play of the famous comic strip created by Charles Schulz. The AHS Theatre Department will perform it on November 13th, 15th, and 16th. Tickets can be bought online on the Anderson Theater and Film Website or at the door.
Theater is not the only activity that is in the months of fall; cross country picks up in late September and early October.
The weather is known to get cooler in late October and early November. There is always a chance of snow in mid to late November.
“I really like running in the fall, that's when cross country is, so it's great weather for it,” Alex Read (10), AHS Cross country runner, said.
Spending time outside is another way to enjoy the cool fall weather. Whether it's celebrating Halloween, enjoying a pumpkin patch, or checking out Anderson's fall activities, October and November are months to enjoy.
