About Me

Short SummaryI am a Ph.D. student of Economics at Fordham University where I am currently working as a Teaching Fellow. I am currently an instructor for Math Bootcamp for incoming Ph.D. students, as well as Basic Microeconomics for the undergraduates. Prior to this, I worked at Fordham University's Tutoring Center where I helped undergraduate students in courses like Basic Microeconomics, Basic Macroeconomics, Statistics I, Statistical Decision Making, and Math for Economists. I was also Dr. Philip Shaw's teaching assistant for an advanced Ph.D. level macroeconomics course. My research interests mostly lie in Development Economics, Applied Microeconomics and I also enjoy learning about different macroeconomics topics, in general.

Academic ExperienceI have also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) and North South University (NSU), where I have assisted students with Econometrics and Microeconomics. I have taken lab classes of STATA for undergraduate students. I have excelled in designing nurturing learning sessions and I've also had the opportunity to take basic Microeconomics class of 140 students.
Apart from that, I have previously worked as a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore, where I have ensured that the corrected data work meets the research quality standards and prepared the completed questionnaires for the data entry process. At UMass Boston, I have worked in a school integration project during my tenure as a Research Assistant and explored a potential extension of an already established research by adding a new dataset to the project. I have also briefly contributed to the data collection for the crime rate in India, especially for the neighboring cities of Hyderabad and Mumbai, in addition to working for the Economics Department Newsletter in Summer, of 2019.
International Development Exposure:I worked as a Program Manager (Acting) at The Fred Hollows Foundation, a non-profit aid organization based in Sydney, Australia, which was founded in 1992 by eye surgeon Fred Hollows. I have led two programs, one of them was building a gender-equitable eye health system in one division of Bangladesh, and another was Seeing is Believing, Standard Chartered's flagship community investment program which provides funding to address avoidable blindness and promote quality eye health. Apart from management and implementation of regular project activities, I also played a vital role in drafting and finalizing project notes, concept notes, and Project Implementation Plan (PIP). Our team has successfully designed a DFAT-funded Comprehensive Eye Care Project (5.6 Million AUD) for the most vulnerable southern part of Bangladesh. I was also the focal person for donor coordination and reporting of The Bangladesh Country Office. During my tenure, I had the opportunity of working directly with donors such as Standard Chartered Bank, ANCP, L'Occitane, and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.
My role as a Program Officer at Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture, an international development organization, that specializes in designing sustainable, market-led agricultural initiatives, involved the creation of an independent social enterprise borne out of a USAID-funded Feed the Future project. I have contributed in the sustainability plans, communication plans, and expansionary plans of the network consisting of 3,000 retailers located in 80 upazillas.

As a consultant, I have led the Research Team of The Right Kind, where I have supported a project managed by the WorldFish Center and funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which aims to provide opportunities to enhance the income of smallholder families, the diets and nutrition of vulnerable women and children and the empowerment of women.
