The Woolworth Award is reserved for students who achieve a remarkable GPA of 3.60 or above in their first semester at the Gabelli School of Business.
The significance of the name “Woolworth Award” is tied to the historical roots of the School of Business. The School of Business received its start when Fordham University was housed downtown in the Woolworth Building. The program grew into the College of Business, and after World War II, found its home on Rose Hill. The school was housed in multiple locations at Rose Hill.
Thanks to a generous gift from Mario Gabelli, we are now known as the Gabelli School of Business, and our home is the state-of-the-art Hughes Hall. The Gabelli School of Business started in the Woolworth building, which led to a future of strength, growth, and positive change.
As we bestow upon you the Woolworth Award to mark your strong start as a Gabelli School student, we hope the same for you: a future of strength, growth, and positive change.
