Action Plan

What Have I Done?

For my action plan, I have created an Instagram account to share information and spread the word about the MMIWG movement. The movement began picking up traction nationally through the social media platforms TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram so I feel as though this method will be extremely effective. In addition to this, the younger generation often consumes news and educates themselves on social issues through social media which would lead to more sharing of the MMIWG movement through my account.

What Can You Do?

• Share information on social media

• Read up on Native issues on MMIWG affiliated sites (some of which I have linked throughout this website, as well as my works cited page)

• Uplift Native voices rather than drowning them out with your own activism

  • Sharing information posted by Native-run accounts, linking people to MMIWG affiliated sites when asked for more info, stand alongside or behind your Native sisters when they are speaking about the MMIWG issues, use whatever privilege you have to help your Native sisters spread the word, etc.

• Support Native women speaking out about their own experiences with abuse
